An executive course examining democratic leadership and diplomacy through a Nordic perspective, grounded in strong democratic traditions and international engagement.
The course draws on Nordic experiences of mediation, consensus-building, and civil society participation to explore how democratic leadership can be exercised in complex international contexts. Participants gain practical insights and inspiration to strengthen international cooperation, uphold international law, and contribute to sustainable peace and democratic resilience.
What makes us unique?
With the Swedish legacy of quite a remarkable collection of famous diplomats, such as Harald Edelstam, Raoul Wallenberg, Alva Myrdal, Per Anger, Folke Bernadotte, and Dag Hammarskjöld, in combination with Sweden and the Nordic countries being strong democracies possesses the right means to take on an important leadership.
Further, we see a great need to mobilize the civil society, to provide forums for discussions, debates, and capacity building within the fields of democracy, human rights, and international affairs, and we strive to be an important assembly point for trainees, politicians, students, organizations, civil servants, representatives of governments, activists, researchers, diplomats, companies, and the general public. Our forums are highly interactive and aim to creating extended knowledge and sharing of best practices for stakeholders to contribute to a flourishing civil society.
